More Annuity Categories
Here are three more categories of annuities.
- Variable Immediate Annuities come with subacounts similar to mutual funds. Money placed in stock funds offer the potential of higher growth. Thus, it is possible that payments could grow at a rate higher than can be achieved by fixed immediate annuities.
- Longevity Annuities are a version of fixed immediate annuities that take affect at later ages.
- Guaranteed Minimum Withdrawal Benefit (GMWB) Annuities for Life are are a version of deferred variable annuities. This type of annuity features the lifetime guaranteed payouts of immediate fixed annuties. But unlike immediate annutities, the amount at death remaining in this deferred annuity can be inherited by one’s heirs.
